Individual Therapy

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons – feeling stuck, depressed, anxious, unfulfilled, or wanting new or more satisfying relationships, careers, or lives. Virtually and within our Northwest Washington, DC practice located within walking distance from Georgetown and Foggy Bottom,  individual psychotherapy can consist of talk therapy, art therapy, or sand tray work depending on the client’s needs and goals.  

Our office is a welcoming space to talk, make art, and learn how to do things differently. We will accompany you in your process, provide resources, and sometimes give homework to help support your learning outside of the office too.  We may explore problem areas or habits that no longer work and work to build new strategies to help you make positive long lasting changes in your life.

Amy has over 18 years of clinical experience.  She has worked with over 10,000 of adults, teens, and families in individual therapy in DC and have seen significant changes and forward movement in their lives from our work together.

We specialize in working women in their late 30s to late 60s, who are in transition or who feel stuck.  We help clients to let go of old patterns that aren’t working for them and find more balance, joy, and hope in their lives.  Our clients report feeling less stressed and more clarity and decisiveness from their individual work, supporting them in decisions around major life transitions from post undergrad/grad school to mid-life from career path to partnership/marriage to shifting relationships with their family of origin, or experiences as an expat or diplomat.

In addition to in person individual counseling and psychotherapy, we offer online therapy for those who live out of the country for work or as expats.
